With Merlot making up 80% of the blend here, the fruit character is what drives this wine. There is also no oak influence here at all, so the warm plum and very ripe fruits are left to dominate. 
A modern style of Bordeaux with a good backbone, tannins are reigned in and the length is good. Quality drinking Claret.
